Client: Individual in France
Objective: Locate an old school friend
A private individual from France contacted us as he wanted to trace his old school friend. Our client had recently moved to France with his late wife who had recently passed away and he wanted to reconnect with his old school friend. It transpires it was also his first love. Unfortunately our client couldn’t provide us with much information other then her first name, that she did marry someone who used to work for the BBC and he had involvement with cooking in Norfolk and that she was a dancer and actress.
“It was the only lead we had”
We commenced our investigation and focused on the subjects husband as if he was with the BBC he could have been more prominent. We began looking through archived cooking shows and articles once shown on BBC. We came across ‘Ready, Steady, Cook’ and a gentleman who used to work on the show. We looked further into him and found he was now a writer for the Guildhall of Food Writers. It was the only lead we had, so we looked for a marriage certificate for him and it showed he had married a female with the same first name as our subject we were looking for.
We located an email address for this male and asked him some questions as to whether it was the husband to our subject. He emailed back shortly afterwards and confirmed it was. He confirmed his wife was our subject and that she still had old vinyl records of our client in the loft, but she had unfortunately passed away 3 years previous.
We notified our client with agreement from the subjects husband and shared some information into her final days. Our client was very happy to have found out but also very sad that he had left it this long. Something he said always stays with us ‘Don’t delay in finding someone. You don’t know how much time is left.’
