Sophie Clark – 15
Back to a few months ago when I first organised coming to Taylor Investigations for my work experience, I was very excited to get started and come to work for a week. Now that I am here, I am finding it not only fun but also interesting.
Even just the first day I learnt a lot! I got taught how to find a person. Which is interesting and scary at the same time. Person tracing is one of the many good things Taylor Investigations do including surveillance, asset tracing and even family trees.
On my third day I went out of the office to do an address check this was really exciting. These address checks involve going out to an address given by a client and seeing whether the person they are looking for lives there. This was really good to see how fascinating this job is, and that it includes loads of different things.
Of course not everything involves these address checks.
But everything I have done this week has been fun. I have also printed and put into envelopes 100 letters! Which will be going out to different solicitors.
On my last day I had the fun task of finding as much detail about someone as I could, with only the name and email. Throughout the day I have found their social media accounts, their address, their family and their business. This was really engaging as it got me searching for information and putting pieces of a puzzle together. This is one of the reasons I have loved my week of working here.
I have also attended a morning meeting called BNI. This really helped me learn about the ways you can market and attract more customers to your business. Which relates to my GCSE course in marketing. I have done a lot of different things this week which makes this job interesting.
I have really enjoyed my week here and have learned a lot. I would like to say a huge thank you to Charlotte, Jamie and Rick for welcoming me into their office to work here.
I have loved every day!

Sophie has been a breath of fresh air whilst with us on her week of work experience. She has got stuck in from day one, carrying out tasks, asking questions, coming up with marketing ideas, going on live enquiries with our other investigators and even taking on a mock case which she nailed! We would welcome Sophie back at any time and I can see that in 5 years from now she will be knocking back on our door looking for a full-time position! Well done Sophie and a huge good luck for your continued studies!
